BAUFLEX® 35 - 1

Contraction and expansion joints in floors Indoor and outdoor applications for warehouses, production areas, pedestrian and traffic areas For food industry and surfaces exposed to weather and temperature differences 1‐part sealant, ready to use High adhesion to concrete High resistance to tearing Very good mechanical and chemical resistance For indoor and outdoor applications Contraction joint Expansion joint a – width of joint b – depth of joint Ø – BAUCORD diameter h – thickness of concrete floor DIMENSIONS OF CONTRACTION AND EXPANSION JOINTS Floor type BAUFLEX 35 can be used at ambient and surface temperature +10°C ‐ 25°C only, air moisture max. 80%. Existing joints must be dry and free of any moisture (humidity <4%). Working areas should be I well ventilated and protected against access by unauthorized persons I and to maintain a protection zone against an open flame, especially Ec the welding work. Ec SURFACE PREPARATION After 28 days joints should be increased to the correct width and depth. The edges of the joints should be beveled using angle grinder. Vacuum joints thoroughly. Surface must be clean, dry, homogeneous, free of grease, dust and loose particies. Old paints, cement wash, loose particies must be removed. After vacuum, insert polyethylene cord BAUCORD to the correct depth. BAUCORD diameter should be about 25% larger than the width of the joint. Prime the beveled edges and sides of the joints using BAUFLEX PRIMER and leave for about 60 minutes, when the primer becomes tacky. APPLICATION METHOD Insert BAUFLEX 35 into the sealant gun and firmly squeeze out into the joints making sure that it is full contact with the side of the joint. Fill the joints avoiding air entrapment. Remove excess of the sealant. If masking tape has been used, remove it whilst the sealant is still soft. When surface and ambient temperature exceed 15 ° C, the surface can be used after 24 hours. Freshly filled joints must be protected against water for a period of min.8 hours. I – Internal floors Ec – External floors covered Eu ‐ External floors uncovered *) dimensions allowed in the case of using a low‐shrinkage cement CEM I MSR 42.5 NA in concrete mix, which is recommended as safe against to threatening reaction of alkali contained in the cement with reactive aggregates CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean all tools and application equipment with acetone immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically. HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTION BAUFLEX 35 is physiologically indifferent to the human organism after hardening. Uncured components are harmful to the health. Rooms in which works are carried out must be well ventilated. Work‐ ers should use protective clothing, shoes, glasses and gloves.
