“When the Ahrend 250 office chair furniture was introduced at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2006, a visitor observed, “This chair turns sitting into the most attractive posture between standing and lying!” As the designer I was delighted with this remark as it so accurately described the essence of the Ahrend 250.
As with the Ahrend Centennial chair which I designed in 1996 on the occasion of Ahrend’s 100th anniversary, there is a balance: the balance between functionality, comfort and aesthetics. Nothing was lost during the development from the idea into the actual chair. The Ahrend 250 office chair has retained the strength of the original draft design and this is also true for the visitors’ chairs furniture which complete the Ahrend 250 series.”
